What data leaves my computer?

What Stenowise sends depends on two settings: where your dictation is recognised and whether the text cleanup is on. You find both under Settings › Privacy in the Recognition and text cleanup group.
Where the data is processed
The Stenowise server is in Nuremberg. It receives the data and passes it on. The text cleanup runs at a service provider in Paris. Recognition runs at a service provider based in France, through its European access point. The privacy policy and the data processing agreement name these providers and state how long they keep data.
What is sent for each setting

With recognition through Stenowise, the recording goes to the server while you are still speaking. When you change text by voice, the selected text and your spoken instruction go to the server.
What stays on your computer
- The history with its texts and recordings.
- Your settings and the stats.
- Dictionary and snippets, as long as you use neither the “On every device” sync nor a shared dictionary.
- The field contents that Stenowise evaluates for “Learn from corrections”.
Stenowise never reads window titles.
What the server stores for your account
For your account, the Stenowise server stores your email address, your plan and the word count per day for the weekly limit. With Stenowise Pro it also stores your billing address, and the invoices are kept in the Stenowise bookkeeping. The server logs contain counts without any content of your dictations.
