Open, close and quit Stenowise

Applies to: Windows, macOS, Linux

When you close the window, Stenowise keeps running in the background. You quit Stenowise through its icon.

Where the icon is

On Windows, a click on the icon opens the window and a right-click opens the menu. On macOS and Linux, a click on the icon opens the menu.

Open Stenowise

  1. Open the icon's menu.
  2. Click “Open Stenowise”.

If you start Stenowise again while it is already running, its window opens.

Close the window

When you close the window, Stenowise keeps running and you dictate with the shortcut as usual. On macOS, Stenowise disappears from the Dock at the same time.

Quit Stenowise

  1. Open the icon's menu.
  2. Click “Quit”.

Until the next start, Stenowise does not respond to the shortcut.

Start with the computer

  1. Open Settings › App.
  2. Switch “Start with the computer” on or off.

When the switch is on, Stenowise starts when you sign in to your computer. After the setup it is on, unless you switched it off on the “Setup complete” page.
