HelpTroubleshooting and support
Report a problem or give feedback
Applies to: Windows, macOS, Linux
Through Support you report a problem or give feedback. The reply comes by email to the address on your account.
Report a problem
- Click Support in the sidebar. You can also choose “Support and feedback” in the icon menu.
- Choose “Report a problem”.
- In the text field, describe what happened and what you expected.
- If needed, tick “Include the recording” and “Include the log”.
- Click “Send”.
Stenowise then shows “Problem sent” with the sentence “We will reply by email to the address on your account.”
Give feedback
If something is missing or you have an idea, choose “Give feedback” under Support. The steps are the same, and after sending, “Feedback sent” appears.
What Stenowise sends along
Under “Sent along” you see what is included before you send. Stenowise only sends what is shown there.
| Item | When it is sent |
|---|---|
| Version and system | with every message |
| Dictation | with a message about a dictation, with “Raw” and “Result” |
| Recording | with “Include the recording” ticked, up to 8 MB |
| Log | with “Include the log” ticked |
Both boxes are unticked by default. The log carries counts and timestamps, never a dictated sentence. The address for the reply is shown there too: “The reply goes to …”.
Report a problem with a specific dictation
- Open the History page.
- Move the mouse over the entry and click “More options”.
- Choose “Report a problem”.
Stenowise attaches the dictation with its raw version and result to the message.
Limits
- You must be signed in to send a message or feedback.
- The text can be up to 4,000 characters long. Stenowise shows how many characters are left.
- You can send up to 10 messages a day. After that, “You have already sent the maximum number of messages today. You can write again tomorrow.” appears.
- If the recording is too long, Stenowise shows “The recording is too long to send along. Switch it off and send the message without it.”
- Without a connection, “The server cannot be reached right now. Try again once you are back online.” appears.
Without an account
If you cannot sign in, send an email to kontakt@stenowise.com.
